Companies Act 2006 - Delay
The Government has announced that the planned staged introduction of ammendments to the Companies Act to be introduced in October 2007, have been put back a full 12 months to October 2008. Other reforms already timetabled will proceed. A further announcement is due in December 2007.

Pre Budget Report
The Government has signalled its intention to reform
tax law to reverse the effects of the House of Lords decision in the Arctic Systems case. Of interest to
small businesses will be the final legislative framework
as there is currently uncertainty about whether or not family shareholders in small companies wiill be affected in the final draft.
